STEM Career Development Scholarship

Success in Science Career Coaching is proud to offer this career development scholarship to a high school junior pursuing a STEM career.

The awardee will receive one year of private, 1-on-1 career coaching, including:

  • An all inclusive, comprehensive dive into your values, interests, and skills to guide your career journey and more clearly represent your unique professional identity.

  • Progressively narrow in on the specific subdiscipline(s), hiring institution type(s), and context(s) in which your contributions are applied (e.g. technology, environment, medicine, etc.)

  • Identify the credentials necessary for the selected career(s), set specific career goals, and generate a timeline to achieve said goals

  • Research and discuss the programs you’re interested in pursuing; extensive feedback is provided and revisions are made for your application documents (e.g. personal essay); guidance for maximizing college visits

  • Receive extensive feedback and revision suggestions on your resume and cover letter

  • Mock interviews (questions customized to the programs you’re pursuing) and feedback

Eligibility

  • High school junior (in Michigan for 2023 application cycle)

  • Minimum science GPA of 2.5

  • STEM career interest

  • U.S. citizen

Submission requirements include:

  • Application form

    Applications must be submitted through the online application platform (GoogleForm). Be prepared to provide a copy of your transcript, listing your science courses (previous and ongoing) and associated course GPAs, as well as the contact information for the individual writing your recommendation letter.

  • One-page essay

    Your essay should describe your academic & career journey thus far (including how your career interests have evolved over time and what career you are currently leaning towards and why) and how this scholarship will help you along your journey. Limit of 1500 characters (with spaces).

  • Recommendation letter

    A letter of recommendation from a teacher or professional in STEM should provide insight into your character, verify your interest and passion for STEM, and discuss how career coaching would serve you. The letter should be sent directly to cassie@successinscienceCC.com (subject line: SSCC Scholarship Recommendation - ‘Student Name’) by the recommender without you seeing it.
